How to reset service side detection system chevy traverse

I have a 2014 traverse, got a message that said service side detection system. The lights on my side view mirrors do not light up when a car passes anymore. I took to dealer and said it was the right side detection module and cost was $600+ I decided to take the car away and locate the part myself and purchase and put in.
